Adopt Or Volunteer With Freedom Frenchie Rescue!
Adopt Or Volunteer With Freedom Frenchie Rescue!
Our Freedom Squad fosters feel a great sense of accomplishment in our foster program! Getting to see their fosters personalities bloom as their fear melts away. Make no mistake: You're helping them get ready for adoption, whether they need development in their social skills or experience being in a home. Often times, these dogs have had limited interaction with humans showing love, treat, or even toys! The process of fostering is life changing, not only for the dogs but for our fosters as well.
In order to foster you will be responsible for the dogs well being and provide consistency and structure for them. We are responsible as a rescue for any and all medical. We create wish lists for our new babies hoping they become filled and provide the basics if needed. We do not have enough funds at this time to provide food, we ask that you provide that. Must be able to take dog to vet appointments (our vet is located in Mesa, AZ). If there is a conflicting schedule we do our best to provide transport with notice ahead of time. We ask our fosters to take our dogs to their meet & greets. This is a great opportunity to provide details to a future adopter: their personality, silly quirks, progression and success in behavior, etc. You know them best since they live with you! We are very transparent with possible adopters to place in correct homes. Last but not least try, we ask our fosters to attend events, as we are here to advocate for this breed. This gives you a chance to interact with other fosters, meet those in the Frenchie community that support our rescue, be a part of the team and gets eyes on your foster pup! This also helps socialize your foster dog, allowing them to be close to you but maybe meet their forever home! Lets show these babies what its like to live in a loving home and get them onto their net chapter. You're the piece in the puzzle.
Please fill out an application for FOSTER or Volunteer below. Once filled out, we will review and get back to you as soon as possible. We do our best to place the right dog with your family and pet dynamic. Please make sure you are very clear on your application as to what you can handle. We will contact you, complete a home visit and bring the dog that we feel is best suited for your dynamic. Just because they are cute doesn't mean they will fit in your home (ex: children in the home, your own dog pack, schedules etc). For their story to be successful, we make sure you are successful with your match as well.
We never know what we are going to get. Most of them are not potty trained . Expect accident's within the first hour, as they have been through so much. French bulldogs are a very emotional breed, and with that comes changes mixed in. They do the best they can! We receive pups from shelters, breeder releases, owner surrenders, and puppy mill releases. We have no clue of their personality right off the bat, we try to combat that ASAP but there is always an adjustment period. Be ready to take that on. Behavioral issues can/will come up: resource guarding, excessive barking, chewing, unpredictable behavior, protective, shy/fearful and potty training. Some may show medical issues after they start to get settled. We ask that you keep in touch with our Foster Coordinator on the team, and keep the rescue updated along the way.
As these dogs come to us with mostly an empty heart, we are here to help bring them back to life. The trust in all humanity is gone. A natural bond will grow instantly. Fostering often requires patience and consistency. How you take care of a sick child or friend is the same aspect for these dogs. They have no voice we are here to provide that for them. Overall fostering a rescue is an emotional and transformative experience, filled with highs and lows but ultimately rewarding. Lets make an impact together!!!!
Please contact if interested in volunteering.
Please note that new foster homes will not be able to adopt their very first foster dog. It is very important to keep in mind that fostering takes commitment. As we never know how the dog will be and truly never know the situation they are coming from. Also keep in mind they are likely to have vet appointments to go to, bringing them to events, home visits, and other situations do come up.
